The Hibiscus Coast is just off the Hauraki Gulf Coast and runs from the Whangaparaoa Peninsula through to Orewa and then Waiwera. There is plenty of activities in and around the Hibiscus Coast. The beaches are one of the biggest attractions for the locals. On top of this you have a mall, movie theatre, Snow Planet and a luge. In particular, try out Orewa Beach or Shakespear Regional park for a great day out.
Orewa is home to the Rodney Farmers' Market which operates every Sunday from 8:00am till 12:30pm. You will find local producers and growers offer farm fresh and organic produce, meats, cheeses, flowers, herbs and plants. Another fun activity especially for the kids is the Waiwera Thermal Resport & Spa. If you are after a great restaurant, give Mick's or Casablanca a go down in orewa.
There are several schools spread throughout the area including Orewa North and Orewa College, Silverdale Primary, Stanmore bay Primary and Whangaparaoa College as well as a great semi private school called Kingsway.
